Congratulations to Presidential Elect, Barack Obama. On January 20, 2009, he will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America. He won the Presidential Election on November 4th with an electorial count of 349 to 163 for Republican candidate, John McCain.
Our condolenses to the family of award winning singer, Donnie McClurkin. His sister, Olivia McClurkin lost her 9 year battle with cancer, on November 4th. Olivia was a dynamic vocalist and member of the McClurkins ( a group made up of her sisters). She also sang background for such greats as Whitney Houston, Pastor Andre Crouch, Ron Kenoly and many others. She leaves behind a grandmother, mother, father, two brothers, four sisters, three daughters, nine grandchildren and a host of friends. Olivia's Homegoing service will be Tuesday, November, 11th, at Perfected Faith Church, in Freeport, NY. All calls, cards, and donations should be sent to the church at 311 N. A memorial services was held On Sunday, November 2nd, for family and friends, of the slain mother, brother and nephew of Oscar-winning Actress, Jennifer Hudson. It took place in Chicago, at the Pleasant Gift Memorial Baptist Church. Reports say that Hudson and her sister, Julia Hudson were not in attendence. The 3 family members were laid to rest on Monday, November 3rd, in private funeral. Hudson has formed a foundation for murder victims' families. The Hudson-King Foundation of Slain Victims, named in honor of her mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King, will assist with the needs of families who have lost loved ones to violent crimes. No one has been charge will the murders, but a "person of interest" is in custody, William Balfour. He is the estranged husband of Julia. Balfour is being held on an alleged parole violation.
24th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards Nominees have been announced. Marvin Sapp leads the pack with 9 Nominations. Followed by Dorinda Clark-Cole and Kirk Franklin with 5 each. CeCe Winans, Ricky Dillard, Israel & New Breed and Canton Jones each picked up 4 nominations. The Stellar Gospel Music Awards will take place on January 17, 2009, in Nashville, TN and will be hosted Comedian Sinbad.
Rev. Timothy Wright recently spoke at the Javits Center in New York, in front of 2500 cheering followers. Wright, who is in a wheelchair and paralized from the chest down, told the audience about the accident, which took the life of his wife and grandson July 4th, on a Pennsylvania interstate. He said he was the only one not wearing a seatbelt, but that he had a different seatbelt (God) and that God kept him here for a reason. Rev. Wright closed his 8 minute speech by telling everyone that the next time they see him he will be walking. Please continue to keep he and his family in prayer.
LaShun Pace is recovering from a successful heart procedure. She had a small device placed under her skin to assist with controling her heart rhythm. Pace was hospitalized for a week after the procedure, but is now recuperating at home, in Atlanta. Her doctors have instructed her to postpone any plans to travel until she fully recovers. Pace is expected to hit the road again in the upcoming weeks, with stops in New York City, Washington D.C., Memphis, Philadelphia, etc....on a sad note.. the Father of the Annointed Pace Sisters has died. Murphy Pace, Jr. passed away on October 29th. He was 76. Please keep the family lifted up in prayer.

Verizon Wireless How Sweet The Sound Church Choir Competition concludes on November 8th, in Atlanta, GA. The Winning Choir will receive $30,000. The host for the Finale will be Donald Lawrence. Judging will be Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, and Actress Gabrielle Union.

Congratulations to Shekinah Glory Ministry. The double CD, "Shekinah Glory Ministry Live" has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This means that over 500,000 units have been sold. Shekinah Glory Ministry is made up of members from Valley Kingdom Ministries International, located in the Chicago area. Apostle H. Int'l Gospel Music Hall Of Fame Museum Announces New Inductees
The International Gospel Music Hall Of Fame Museum's inductees for 2008 are: Melvin Couch of the Brooklyn All Stars, Dr. Vernard Johnson of the Pilgrim Jubilees, Rev. Earnest Davis Jr.'s Wilmington Chester Mass Choir and Arthur "Bob" Beatty Jr. The Celebration and Fundraiser is scheduled for October 25th, in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Bobby Jones and The Gospel Music Channel teamed up for a new original series called Bobby Jones Next Generation. It was announced by Gospel Music Channel vice chairman Brad Siegel. Bobby Jones Next Generation will be seen Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
